On Sunday, January 31, at Noon, Maud UMC is sponsoring a Beans and Rice Lunch to raise funds to benefit UMCOR’s relief effort in Haiti. The lunch is free with no frills, but we are challenging our church family and community to donate the amount they would spend to “eat out” on Sunday. If we spend an average of $7-10 per person to eat out, imagine how much we might raise if all UMs were to participate!

Yesterday Bishop Huie, in a video address, asked that we all do two things to help those in Haiti. First we should pray. Second we should give generously.
