Each church that is present at this youth rally will be appointing 2 sr high youth and 2 jr high youth to take part in the elections for 3 Conference Youth Council Representative Positions; 2 CYC Reps. and 1 CYC Alternate Rep. These youth must be willing to attend 4 CYC meetings this next year. The rest of the youth will meet at a different date to set and approve North District Youth Bylaws, and to elect district officers. See you at FUMC Linden! God bless!

The Bear Creek fires in September 2011 forced the postponement of this event, but we’re back on track and excited to have Scott Atnip, National Development Director for UM Army, returning to our district. Scott will be here at Linden UMC on Thursday evening, February 16, at 6pm. We’ll continue the conversation we began last summer, working together to strengthen the ministries of UM Army in our own district and beyond. We’d love for you to join us, and hope that you will invite enthusiastic laypersons from your congregation to come with you as well.

Appetizers will be served, prepared by Linden’s own Keenan Attatway, a culinary arts graduate and veteran of UM Army. We will appreciate your RSVP (to desiree@lindenumc.org) so that we might prepare appropriately for all who will be in attendance.

Our theme this year is iPromise5. We’ll explore God’s covenants with us while playing live-action Angry Birds, visiting the app store, Hanging with Friends, and worshiping with itunes. Online registration is now open for both locations, both weekends. Cost is $105 per person.

As you can see things are starting to get busy in the life of 33 The Ministry. Please keep us in your prayers as we are still working on the Christian youth center.

I also want to thank everyone that helped with the Chris & Conrad concert on May 31. What an event it was. A special thank you goes out to KVNE. Without their help we would have not filled every seat. If you see anyone from the station, please tell them how much we appreciate them and their ministry. It is a vital part of our community!!!! Please support them any way that you can.

Williams Memorial UMC will host Wayne Kerr on his “One Voice” tour. The concert is Sunday Evening, March 21 in Williams’ Wesley Hall and the doors open at 5:00 p.m. This event is a District Youth Rally, however everyone of all ages are invited to attend. Attendees will receive a download card to download the CD made from this concert free.
