Our church has been putting on a play every year on Maundy Thursday entitled “The Living Last Supper”. Our goal has been to grow the attendance to the point that our church can’t handle the crowd – We are almost there! Another goal is to promote the play to the community – not just our congregation – or just United Methodist Churches.
This year we are taking a small leap out into the community and will have the play at the Marshall Visual Arts Center – April 5th at 7:00 pm. We also are trying to have as many cast members as possible from different churches spanning various denominations.

Men’s Spring Retreat at Lakeview
All MEN and Clergy invited and encouraged to attend !
The TEXAS Conference United Methodist Men’s Spring Retreat will be at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center on April 20, 21 and 22, 2012.
All men and all clergy from every church in the Conference are invited and encouraged to attend.
This year, 2012, marks the 104th year of organized men’s ministry in the Methodist denomination. We have an exciting and spirit-filled program planned for you with Rev. Steve Woody, from Livingston First UMC, as our Retreat preacher and Rev. Jerry Pennington, the East District Superintendent, as our Keynote Speaker.
This is also an important gathering because new Conference UMM officers and leaders will be elected. If you or someone you know has leadership experience and is willing to serve, please contact or send your resume to Dan Ramsey for consideration. We will also have the Upper Room Prayer Line from Nashville at our remote location and invite you to participate in this vital ministry.
Please download and print the three attached documents. The flyer contains information, schedule and registration forms you can fill out and mail in. OR, you can find this same information at our web-site, www.tcumm.org , and register on-line.
Prayerfully consider attending and bring a friend or two. The dead line for registration is April 2nd.
We ask that the District Offices forward this email to all the pastors and church offices in their Districts and ask them to make sure the men in their congregations are aware of this great opportunity.
| Did you know that the church loses 70-80% of its ACTIVE youth each year after they leave for college?* Did you know that two-thirds of the students who leave the church INTEND to stay connected, but fail to do so?*
You can help us to stay connected to our Methodist college students who are unintentionally falling away from the church by sharing their contact information with us!
All pastors, youth directors, parents and friends of youth in our conference can report the names and contact information of college bound Methodist youth online at www.txcumc.org/campusministryreporting.
Providing this information enables campus ministers and UM pastors in their area to follow-up with them and invite them to their worship services, Bible studies, mission trips, and fellowship activities.
If you have trouble with the on-line form, you can email the contact information to Dan Conway, Director of Youth/Young Adult Ministries, at dconway@txcumc.org.
Since college classes are beginning over the coming weeks, please send in the information right away, even if it is not complete. Many times a simple invitation makes all the difference!
