Prayers, Resources and Job Opportunities

We want to let you know about three very important pages of our website.

First is our Joys and Concerns page. Any prayer request or praise that we receive is posted here.

Second is our Church Classifieds page. It is our place to connect those churches who have extra resources with those churches looking for resources.

Third is our Job Opportunity page. This page is a place for you to list job opportunities in your church.

If you have prayers, resources or job opportunities to add to these pages, please email them to  aroh@sbcglobal.net

New Ways to Communicate

The North District Website now has a new look, and new ways that you can stay informed of what’s going on. The current email list will be used until March 1st. Before that time we would ask that you choose one or more of the four following ways to receive your updates.

Rss- Rss stands for Real Simple Syndication and is a way to get the updates to the website sent straight to you through use of a blog reader. Posts are updated in real time so you get updates as they go live on the website. Some popular blog readers are Google Reader and Blog Lines.

To follow us on RSS- Download or log in to your blog reader. Copy http://feeds.feedburner.com/northdistrictumc/izmE into the feed. Or just click on the link and it should pull up in your reader.

Twitter- Twitter is used to send short 140 character or less messages to those who follow you on twitter. These messages called “tweets” can contain text or links. The district website is set up to send out a tweet containing a link to the recent posts on the website. You can then click on the link to read the full story.

To follow us on Twitter- Sign up for twitter at www.twitter.com then follow @northdistumc

Facebook- We have set up a facebook fan page for the North District. Once you become a fan of the North District then you will receive updates in your own facebook newsfeed. These updates will contain links back to the district website. You can also comment, upload photos , share your own links, and connect with others on the facebook page.

To follow us on Facebook- Go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/North-District-UMC/220452148901 and become a fan.

Feed Burner Email- There is still the option to receive updates via email. Feedburner collects all posts for a particular day and sends them out as one email.

To Follow us by Email- Click here then enter your email address, enter the shown word in the spam prevention box, and click “Complete Subscription Request.” You will then receive an email in the inbox of the address you entered. Open that email and click on the link to verify.

Again please choose at least one of these four methods to receive your electronic communication. If you like, choose as many as you need. Remember that on March 1st we will cease using our current email list.

We hope that this will result in better, more effective communication. Please let us know other ways which can help us accomplish this goal.
