Southwestern College Professional Studies to Offer Graduate Certificate in Biblical Studies

Beginning in fall 2012, Southwestern College Professional Studies will be offering a graduate certificate in Biblical Studies. It is a five-course program that can be a standalone certificate, or can be added to the master of arts in specialized ministries or master of arts in theological studies degrees. The first course will begin on September 24 and will be offered online.

“This certificate comes directly from discussions with our learners. They were looking for something to add to our master’s in ministry degrees, and this certificate helped fill that gap,” says Pamela Monaco, vice president for professional studies. “This will also work well for those who are life-long bible learners, but don’t want a full degree program.”

The nondenominational graduate certificate in biblical studies is designed to provide a broad scriptural base for those working in a variety of church or para church ministry settings involving youth, young adults, and older adults.

According to Monaco, learners acquire proficiency in interpreting and communicating the relevance of God’s Word in their church, organization, and community.

Respectfully,

Richard B. Wilke, Bishop in Residence
